Rotary International Youth Program
|
|
The " TeachingKidsBusiness.com & Rotary International Youth Program" is being proposed to further the cause of TeachingKidsBusiness.com and to provide kids with exposure to the reputable business leaders and professionals of Rotary International.
|
Goals Of The Program Are ; |
TeachingKidsBusiness.com's goal is to engage and inspire kids around the world to develop business skills, explore career opportunities and career preparation at an early age.
Jointly the program will provide quality educational enhancement programming for kids internationally. Local market Rotary Clubs will offer program communications and e-Mentoring involvement to support and develop this program. |
Proposed Rotary Program |
-
The proposal is to engage Rotarians internationally to provide career profiles and advice to kids in regards to preparing for and choosing their careers.
-
This program is communicated through our "e-Mentoring for Kids Program" which is on the www.teachingkidsbusiness.com website.
-
The information will be asked for and presented in the format of a number of questions. The questions can be answered online through our "e-Mentoring Form" or requested by e-mail at ementos@teachingkidsbusiness.com
-
The profiles consist of nine questions about career preparation, career insight, lessons learnt and career advice.
-
The profiles will be displayed in a data base of "e-Mentor Profiles" for kids to explore, reflect on, broaden their perspectives, learn from and enjoy.
-
The exposure to Rotarians will help kids prepare for careers, give them confidence about the many opportunities that await them and instill the values of Rotarians on our future business world.
The "e-Mentoring for Kids Program" as it is now, has been developed to test the concept and communicate the opportunity. The program has succeeded in reaching it's initial goals. There is now an amazing opportunity to develop the potential of the program with an alliance with a reputable and international organization like Rotary International.
The program could possibly be considered within the "World Wide Service Program" and would require a local sponsor to initiate the process.

Rotary Can Explore Many Other Opportunities in TeachingKidsBusiness.com
|
Rotary can share our programming in local communities. The resources are available at www.teachingkidsbusiness.com
The "Resource Center" is a good starting point with a number of interesting activities for kids to develop business skills. All the activities have a purpose, each child will develop skills and have the opportunity for self-discovery. It would be a very worthwhile community initiative to communicate and provide kids with access to the programming.
The "Business Encounter" section is developing as a way to provide kids with business experience.
-
The "Caddie Program" is an excellent opportunity for kids to gain actual job experience and career preparation. You and/or your club could extend an invitation for kids to caddie. This can be as simple as an invitation during a regular game of golf, a caddie day event or at a golf tournament you are involved in etc . TeachingKidsBusiness.com is working on developing international caddie events that you may support. Please consider our caddie program in your Rotary International World Wide Service Program.
-
There are other ways for kids to gain experience in our Business Case Studies where you can act as a "business case" of a local business or professional that is interviewed and profiled by a local child. Your findings will be an amazing experience for a child that we hope you will share on the website for other kids to benefit.
In addition, we have created Just For Clicks Business Game that is intended to celebrate the efforts of developing business skills and learning about business. The game allows kids to go through a process of developing a business with a "digital product". You can have a lot of fun and reward from acting as a business advisor an experiencing their first business venture.
-
Our Business Club would be an excellent initiative for kids in your community. This is an opportunity for kids to work together and gain some valuable business experience.
-
Our "Kids-Works-Ventures Program" is an interesting initiative for community members to partner with kids. Rotary Clubs could sponsor the commercialization of local kid's works.
-
Our Business-Lunch-For-Kids is an ideal activity for Rotarians. This could also be done during a Rotary meeting. The concept is to use a lunch or meal gathering to donate a little time to share advice on business and careers with kids. The information is forwarded to our website for posting.
The "Community Involvement" section has been developed to facility support from our community and engage kids to work with their community. If you want to expose a child to philanthropic activities, then this would be a good area to explore. The essence of this section is to engage people in helping kids prepare for their careers. There are many wonderful resources in our communities who would be happy to give a little of their time to help kids prepare for their careers. In addition, we are working on a "Kid's Community Service Program" to create some specific initiatives for school community service requirements. |
I look forward to developing this program with Rotarians.
