Know Your Product

Review www.TheKidsGuideToBusiness.com to get familiar with the product.

We will provide you with a "Book Summary" to allow you to get familiar with the product. Once you have demonstrated a commitment to your job we will send you a copy of the book. Take the time to read information about the book so you truly understand the product you are selling.

This is the marketing promotions piece we are using:

"The Kids’ Guide To Business" helps kids get started in business in a kid-friendly way.  Kids will get interested in business as they learn business is a game kids can play.

Kids develop a business with the help of a unique "Develop A Business" system; encouraging them to explore & discover business, gain valuable experience, responsibility and confidence.

This book was inspired by hundreds of kids résumés submitted to TeachingKidsBusiness.com that revealed a lack of business/work opportunities for kids, in addition to their desires for new challenges.

Fun is guaranteed as kids have been given the job of creating fun in their businesses.

Ideal for kids 8-17 interested in their futures, for parents, teachers and youth minded service groups interested in preparing kids for their futures.

This book is a great "gift of business" idea to launch a child into business.

Know Your Responsibility

  • Make sure that your customers are clear that they are buying the book through www.TheKidsGuideToBusiness.com .

  • Ensure that your customers know what TeachingKidsBusiness.com is doing as an organization. Background information can be found in our Info Center .

  • Work with us on opportunities that you can identify for selling the book (book fair, school fundraiser, youth service group etc.) We will help provide you with a selling proposal.

Where To Sell

Talk to your school fundraising committee about selling a book for a fundraiser.

Stay in your neighborhood initially - your school and youth groups you are familiar with.

Ask people who are running a garage sale if you can set-up a sales table to sell a book. Check the local paper for upcoming garage sales.

Contact your local newspaper and inquire about classified advertising for a book.

Contact us on your selling strategy so we can help you.  As ideas come in from kids we will improve this section to give you more direction.

Selling Aids

We have provided you with links to www.TheKidsGuideToBusiness.com . Print off the overview section to use as a selling tool to explain the book.

We are working on some advertisements and we have several  press releases to help you.

Sales Plan

A sales plan is the approach you are going to take to sell the book.

Understand your customer. What is the reason kids will buy this book. How will it benefit them. Come up with a statement in your own words on why kids need to buy this book ie. it is a fun way to learn business.

The plan should consist of the following components;

  1. What are you going to say - like a 30 second commercial. You need to be able to talk about the book. Like a commercial you need to say it quick and effective.
    a) I'm selling book to help kids learn about business and to help your organization raise money.
    b) I like it because ...
    c) It will help kids understand and get started in business.
    d) The book can be sold by your organization for a profit of approximately $10.00 per book.

  2.  You need to show them something - the cover page and a few pages of the book or the whole book.

Getting Paid

The key for both you as seller and TeachingKidsBusiness.com as the supplier of the book is to get paid. Your customer has to pay us so we can ship the books and pay you.

We do not want to have the problem of shipping thousands of dollars of books and not get paid. Therefore, we have to work together to make sure we all get paid and that your customer gets their books.

We can pay you easily through www.paypal.com . We just have to know your e-mail address and we can sent you a payment.

There are several ways we can manage the payments:

The customer (school or youth group) can send us a cheque. After the cheque clears the banking system we can release the shipment.

The customer  can pay online.

We will work with each customer to make satisfactory arrangements for purchases.

Yes, there is lots to having a job and managing it well. The fact that you read through all of this is a great start. Make sure you understand it all and please refer back to this page to make sure you are doing things well.
