Kid's Caddie Program with Online and On-Course Business Experience

Markham, Canada and Seattle Washington, USA, April 10, 2001

TeachingKidsBusiness.com announces today the launch of their very  unique and creative "Kid's Caddie Program" which exposes the "business-golf dynamics" to kids.

TeachingKidsBusiness.com is launching a "Kid's Caddie Program",   on their www.teachingkidsbusiness.com website.   Jeff M. Brown, President & CEO says, "this is the time of year that people are thinking about golf and with the Masters fresh in people's minds, many are reflecting on the traditions of golf.  One of the traditions that has diminished over the years has been the use of Caddies. Although we see Caddies as integral to golf on the professional circuits, we don't see as much of them at local country clubs and public courses".

TeachingKidsBusiness.com has developed a "Kid's Caddie Program" as part of our "Business Encounters" programming.  We believe that kids will benefit greatly from business/work experience at an early age.  In a lot of cases, a Caddie job can be a first job for kids and we want to participate in preparing  and helping them to succeed in the future.

The "Kid's Caddie Program" consists of a first-time ever online  training manual to teach the basics of the Caddie function and golf etiquette.  Ideas in the  Caddie Events section  encourages golf courses, local businesses and people in general to offer Caddie opportunities. Business orientated golf course opportunities have been created to attract the participation of golf courses. Support information has been provided for kids to approach golf courses with an introductory letter,  to communicate the program to golfers with a service agreement, to get advice on do's and don'ts , Caddie rates, Caddie Career assistance, and most importantly, to provide advice to kids on how to carry on a business discussion on career preparation.

Caddying is a job responsibility at a golf course where kids would work for a golfer to carry or pull their golf bag and assist them during their round.  Caddying is a great way for kids to gain valuable work experience, customer service skills, exposure to the great game of golf, develop important work habits &  life skills and meet & work for a variety of people.

The intention of the TeachingKidsBusiness.com "Kid's Caddie Program" is to  encourage kids to Caddie, golfers to use Caddies, golf tournaments, charity events and golf courses to extend the opportunity for kids to Caddie. Youth Service Groups and schools can take an active role in helping develop the Caddie opportunities.

Brown acknowledges, "We don't have to put Caddie programs in all golf courses to succeed,  all it will take is the generosity of  golfers to create one opportunity for a kid to Caddie.  Our "Kid's Caddie Program" will leverage the great sport of golf with the tradition of golfers' generous support in our communities by helping kids.  Kids will benefit greatly from the experience  and the positive exposure to the golf environment".

TeachingKidsBusiness.com wants to engage and inspire kids at an early age (8 and up) to develop confidence, experience,  business skills, explore career choices and prepare for careers.  The website presents "tools", "experiences" and "community involvement" support in a safe, educational, non-pressure, non-commercial and fun way. The "Kid's Caddie Program" is a great way to deliver these goals.
