FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TeachingKidsBusiness.com Launches Music Mentoring.

Toronto, Canada and Seattle Washington,  May 08, 2002

Music and mentoring together, can do some amazing things for kids.

We all know that music connects with and  influences  kids.   Attitudes, good and bad, and role playing often comes out of music. Most people would agree that the influences are not as good as they could be and that music is a great way to communicate with kids.

Songwriter Jeff McCann, of  Peace River, Alberta, Canada suggests; "Music is an extremely powerful and influential medium, but I'm finding as a songwriter, that most people don't pay attention to the lyrics as much as they used to. A lot of songs are coming along today and selling a lot of records with just a good beat and a few words or catch phrase that is just repeated over and over again. I still think the best songs are the ones that tell a story, or have a message or moral."

Mentoring is a well known and helpful approach, especially for kids, and can really inspire kids and help steer them in the right direction.  Mentoring is something that more kids could use to help guide them to successful lives and careers.  Fortunately, there are many mentoring programs and organizations that facilitate mentoring to the benefit of many kids.

The TeachingKidsBusiness.com Music Mentoring Program is a community initiative.  Kids can submit questions about business, careers and perspectives on their futures, community members submit advice and words of encouragement & inspiration for kids. Songwriters will work with these ideas to develop songs  and TeachingKidsBusiness.com will facilitate the process.

The TeachingKidsBusiness.com Music Mentoring Program links kids to music in a new way.  Music can reach kids easily and effectively and when combined with good advice from  mentors, there are exciting opportunities.

Jeff M. Brown, the founder of TeachingKidsBusiness.com suggests that "Kids will have the opportunity of writing, reviewing  and performing the songs. Kids are involved in all aspects of the process to ensure the music relates well and sounds good to kids."

Songwriter, McCann states; "I like the idea of music mentoring, helping kids to write songs with strong morals and values. Songs with messages that will inspire others to achieve."

"Work For Love", by Jeff McCann, has been posted on the site to act as a demo song for the Music Mentoring program.

Brown feels that "our Music Mentoring is a natural extension of the programming of TeachingKidsBusiness.com. This exciting new program will also engage and inspire kids to start career preparation at an early age of 9-14."

About TeachingKidsBusiness.com

TeachingKidsBusiness.com  provides kids with "tools", "experiences", and support from "community involvement". These components will engage and inspire kids to discover their talents and to develop & prepare for career and business opportunities for their eventual working lives. We provide an online environment that is non-pressured, safe, positive, interactive, respectful, stimulating, fun, educational and rewarding. We will demonstrate that Kids can do amazing things when we give them a chance, even in  business!

The "Resource Center" provides a number of "tools" for kids. The tools introduce concepts, provide them in a context that kids can relate to, use activities to reinforce the concepts and allow kids to apply them in their pre-career lives. The tools include very innovative training techniques such as Improvisation used in progressive companies, doodling, character building, thinking, career coaching, job fit and many more.

"Business Encounters" provides kids with "experience". We feel that gaining experience is a key to success and recognize how difficult  it is for kids to gain experience. TeachingKidsBusiness.com is developing a number of "experience programs" such as Just for Clicks Business Game, Business Case Studies, Caddie Program, Career Experience at TeachingKidsBusiness.com and a Kid's Community Service Program which are all designed to create experience opportunities.

The "Community Involvement" section is developing to invite community members to help kids learn about business and prepare for careers. There is such a wealth of information and advice in our communities, and when we channel it through the TeachingKidsBusiness.com website, we will have a great impact on many kids. Our community  includes many groups, like seniors who can share their advice with kids, golfers who could talk to kids about career preparation as a child caddies for them, business people who could participate in our "e-Mentoring Program for Kids" by providing a career profile and advice to kids on career preparation and educators who could use this programming as a business partnership initiative to enhance curriculum . With the participation of Youth Service Groups we can provide our programming to kids who don't have internet access or limited adult mentoring and educational resources.

The "Info Center" provides information for background, strategic and corporate related matters. This section will help the media and users understand the underlying philosophies of this community enhancement initiative.

Just For Clicks Business Game "has been developed for kids to have fun creating a digital product and business. TeachingKidsBusiness.com is currently developing KidsE-Marketplace.com which is a "Kid's Marketplace" that will allow kids to experience the launch of a business and further develop their business skills and experience. The Kid's Marketplace is the next natural business step to teach kids business.

Youth Empowerment is in the forefront of the developed of the website. Kids are encouraged to participate and be heard in a range of opportunities throughout the website.

TeachingKidsBusiness.com is creating many opportunities for Kids to explore and prepare for careers, for many people to get involved in developing or distributing content and to use the internet in a constructive way that can reach and positively influence many kids in an efficient and cost effective way.
